2021 Inspection Authorization Renewal

For the upcoming Inspection Authorization (IA) renewals in March 2021, there are several methods to submit your application.

The preferred method is through the Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA). This system will allow IAs to submit their entire renewal package to the FAA electronically. In addition, the FAA will have the ability to renew the Inspection Authorization remotely. The system will also generate, autofill, and email a renewal letter back to the IA instead of endorsing FAA Form 8310-5.

Download and review the IACRA instruction manual, which is located on the right side of the page. The instructions will help you to register and complete the application. If you have previously used IACRA for another certificate, you do NOT need to create a new account, simply use that existing account.

You may also submit your application through the US Postal Service (USPS) or via email. Be advised, you will experience increased processing time when submitting applications through these methods.

Mailing your application package remains similar to previous renewal periods.

If you choose to submit your application through email, ensure all documents are in an Adobe .pdf format and sent to: 7-agl-ind-fsdo@faa.gov.

Applicants renewing through IACRA will receive a letter in lieu of a new or recurrent signed FAA Form 8310-5 (yellow card). Additional information will be included in the letter. Applicants reviewing through email or mail may receive either a letter or a new or recurrent signed FAA Form 8310-5.
