FAA Job Application Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Your resume should support your knowledge, experience, and abilities as they relate to the job announcement. The same is true for your documents. By previewing the Aviator job announcement on USAJobs, you can see all required documents for that announcement.
You may have missed a step - return to USAJOBS and elect to "Edit" your application. Use the "Select Documents" link to navigate to the page where you can select documents. Once on that page, make sure you check the box in the upper right corner of each document you need or click “Add document” to upload a new one. If you add a new one, you must check the box in the upper right corner of the new document in order for it to transfer into AVIATOR. Then finish the USAJOBS application steps. In AVIATOR, the documents should now be present, but be sure to submit or resubmit your application since it has changed.
Review the job announcement and make sure you meet all the stated requirements. You will then need to restart your application and double-check the questions and your answers. You can also contact the individual listed in the "Agency Contact Information" section in the announcement.
Military information is collected by USAJOBS and kept in your profile - they provide this information automatically to AVIATOR. You will need to modify the “Military Service” section in the profile and then reapply on the job announcement.
If the job announcement is still open, return to USAJOBS and modify the personal information in your profile, but be sure to resubmit your application. If the announcement has closed, you can contact the person listed in the "Agency Contact Information" section of the announcement.
