What you need to qualify:
- One year of specialized experience in one of specialized areas; or
- Three years of general work experience demonstrating knowledge of electronics, mathematics, computers, aeronautics, or automated systems; or

Administer, investigate, and enforce safety regulations and standards for the production, operation, maintenance, and modification of all aircraft flying today.
FAA is looking for aviation safety inspectors in the specialty areas listed below:

What you need to qualify:
General Aviation, Rotocraft
- ATP OR Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor w/Instrument Rating
- Total Flight Time: 1,500 hours (if rotary, 1,000 in helicopters; 200 giving instruction; 100 w/in the past year)
Air Carrier
- Above requirements + ATP with multi-engine land or commercial with instrument airplane rating
- 1 yr.+ as pilot of a multi-engine aircraft with 12,500 lbs.+ takeoff weight
All operations positions require a valid 2nd class medical.
Operations positions eligible for $25,000 recruitment incentive.
Operations and Flight Oversight positions may eligible for $10,000 PCS incentive.
What you need to qualify:
General Aviation, Air Carrier
Maintenance
- FAA Mechanic Certificate with airframe and power plant ratings
- Maintenance experience w/in the last 3 yrs. (airframes, power plants, aircraft systems)
- Aircraft maintenance experience in a repair station; air carrier or airline repair facility; military repair facility; or local, state, or Federal governmental agency
Avionics
- Maintenance, repair or troubleshooting experience on installed aircraft avionics systems
- Aircraft avionics work experience (which could include supervision or auditing) in a repair station; air carrier repair facility; military repair facility; or local, state, or Federal governmental agency within the last 3 years
Air carrier positions require experience with multi-engine aircraft with 12,500+ lbs. takeoff weight.
Airworthiness (Avionics & Maintenance) positions may be eligible for $10,000 PCS incentive if location is considered hard to fill.
What you need to qualify:
- Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate
- 2+ yrs. as a Part 121 Scheduled Domestic or Flag Dispatcher
- 1+ yrs. in at least one area:
- Air Transportation Supervisor
- FAA Designated Aircraft Dispatch Examiner
- Dispatch Instructor for a Part 121 air carrier
- Dispatcher with responsibility for developing, creating or revising dispatch manuals
- Qualifying experience must have been gained within the last 3 years
- Experience in a manufacturing facility doing quality systems, methods, and techniques in the manufacture of products and/or articles
- Bonus if an FAA designee Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative (DMIR) or Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR)
- 3+ yrs. in a passenger-carrying aircraft (12,500 lbs.+ takeoff weight) with broad experience in:
- Cabin safety policy
- Flight attendant duties
- FAA regulations
- Emergency equipment and practices
- Conducting emergency procedure instruction
- Managing flight attendant training
- Developing flight attendant manuals
- Qualifying experience must have been gained within the last 3 years
Aerospace engineers work in a wide range of areas to design, invent, and innovate technology, structures, and processes, and to find practical solutions to current and future aviation needs. The FAA is looking for qualified individuals who have experience in one or more of the following skills:
Aircraft Certification:
Aerospace Vehicle Systems
- Analyst
- Environmental Assessment
- Meteorology

Commercial Space Transportation:
- Safety Analysis: Flight safety, hazard, and system safety analyses
- Safety Assurance: Operational experience in flight testing, mission control, military flight operations, or active aerospace manufacturing floors
- Safety Authorization: Project Management and Systems Integration
What you need to qualify:
- Successful candidates typically possess a degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, systems engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, software engineering, meteorology, or another closely related engineering or physical science discipline.
- Experience may be gained through work in commercial space, aerospace, aviation, defense, military, manufacturing, research, or other high-reliability industries. Candidates with experience supporting complex engineering projects, conducting technical analyses, or overseeing operational safety are encouraged to apply.
Salary: $62,660-$216,637 depending on location and experience
Locations:
Conduct qualitative and quantitative flight tests and evaluate engineering data on modified and new type design aircraft to oversee applicants' compliance showings for applicable airworthiness requirements. Test Pilots are considered a technical authority responsible for the flight test compliance of the type certification processes for performance, flying qualities, flight controls, avionics, propulsion, and mechanical/electrical systems and equipment installations on those same aircraft.
What you need to qualify:
- Total Flight Time: 1,750 hrs. (1,150 PIC | 75 Night | 100 last 12 mo.)
- 1st or 2nd class medical
Salary: $111,779-$192,093 depending on location and experience

Flight surgeons, medical officers, and physicians develop and manage medical programs in support of aviation safety, including Airman Medical Certification, the Aviation Medical Examiner Program, Air Traffic Control Specialist, Applicant Examination Program, and the Internal Substance Abuse Program.
What you need to qualify:
- Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada.
- Current, active, full and unrestricted license or registration as a physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
- Three (3) years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled (occupational medicine or aerospace medicine) or equivalent experience and training
Salary: $203,661-$228,000 depending on location and experience; physicians also are eligible for premium pay

Psychologists apply psychological principles and methodologies to promote the safety, health, and performance of aviation personnel. FAA psychologists assess and support the mental and behavioral fitness of pilots, air traffic controllers, and other key aviation staff to ensure they perform their duties safely and effectively within high-stakes environments.
Preference to hire Neuropsychologists
What you need to qualify:
- Degree: Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in psychology from an accredited program.
- Current, active, and valid state licensure as a clinical psychologist or an equivalent credential to practice psychology from a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
Salary: $75,279-$228,000 depending on location and experience

A: Yes, interviews will be held in-person at Oshkosh. Your interview confirmation will specify the format and provide any necessary links or directions.
Q: I interviewed. Now what?
A: After your interview, the hiring team will review all candidates and contact you with the next steps. For some positions, you may receive a tentative offer letter inviting you to a second interview or additional assessment. This process can take a few days to a couple of weeks.
