PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Denver FSDO is not the appropriate office for addressing aircraft noise concerns. See below for more information.
Aircraft operating near an airport for takeoff and landing may be in compliance with FAA Regulation 91.119.
Aircraft Noise Complaints & Inquiries should be submitted to the Regional FAA Aviation Noise Ombudsman. Please contact the FAA Noise Ombudsman (206-231-4202) for Aircraft Noise Complaints within the Denver FSDO jurisdiction.
Safety related aircraft concerns are the responsibility of the Denver FSDO and should be submitted via the FAA Hotline Web Form or by contacting the FSDO directly.
Please reference the Low-Flying Aircraft pamphlet for a checklist of information needed to submit a complaint. Additional information is also included to explain instances where aircraft may be operating within the regulatory requirements for certain operations.
For expediency, the Denver Flight Standards District Office recommends contacting an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE) or Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) for the following services:
- CFI Renewals based on a FIRC
May be submitted by a DPE.
Note 1: CFI Renewals based on "Duties and Responsibilities" and Activity/ Pass Rate must schedule an appointment with the FSDO. CFI Renewals based on part 121 crewmember status, please refer to your appropriate airline FAA Certificate Management Office. - The following are examples of renewals based on Duties and Responsibilities:
- Company Check Pilot
- Company Check Airman
- Chief Flight Instructor
- Student Pilot Certificate
May be submitted by a DPE or CFI. - Remote Pilot Certificate
Applicants without a Part 61 pilot certificate may submit application and documentation without assistance.
Applicants with an existing Part 61 pilot certificate may utilize a DPE or CFI to submit application. - Private Pilot Certificate Based on Foreign Certificate
FAA certificate issued on the basis of your foreign license may be submitted by a DPE-FPE.
Verification of Authenticity of a Foreign License/Medical (FAA Letter of Authenticity) - Military Competency
An FAA certificate issued on the basis of Military Competency may be submitted by a DPE-MCE.
Please refer to the Designee Locator to find a DPE-FIRE, DPE-FPE, DPE-RPE or DPE-MCE, or contact a local pilot school to locate a Certified Flight Instructor.
To locate a DPE in the Designee Locator, please see the following steps:
Select DPE in the drop down menu, then type in United States and Colorado to find a DPE in your area (do not type in the city or postal code as this overly minimizes the search). Next, select DPE-FIRE, DPE-FPE, DPE-RPE or DPE-MCE under “Administrative” Authorizations to see a listing of all DPEs that conduct these certifications on behalf of our office.
