The FAA is proposing new, satellite-based air traffic procedures that will help improve traffic efficiency and safety at the Chicago/Rockford International Airport.

Performance Based Navigation (PBN) uses satellites to fly more direct routes with efficient climbs and descents. These routes can improve traffic flow providing a flexible system capable of handling the demands and complexities of the future.

The FAA is implementing these procedures at airports across the United States. You can learn more in our video, which provides a general overview of the current airspace and the proposed changes.
