The Aircraft Characteristics Database provides the essential characteristics of aircraft types that are in use across the NAS, in order to perform airport planning and design functions.  The aircraft characteristics database aligns with ICAO-aircraft type designators, used in flight plans, per FAA Order 7360.1,  and related aircraft performance data.  In addition, the database includes the required aircraft approach category speeds developed by the Office of Flight Standards, Aircraft Evaluation Division, Flight Standardization Board.
